What is Te Ashi Jutsu
Te Ashi Jutsu (TA Jutsu for short) is a modern martial art formed to be a more rounded and practical system of self-defence. The art contains a mixture of self-defence techniques that make use of flexible fluid movements to generate more powerful punches and kicks while the close-range techniques use the opponent’s weight and balance to your advantage.
All techniques are learned through a variety of training drills designed to build confidence and skill. The techniques include punching, kicking, strikes, take downs and escapes from holds and grabs taken from a variety of other martial arts including Judo, Jujitsu, Choi Kwang Do and Krav Maga. Every effort has been made to only include techniques that work in real life situations. We are not focused on competitions but only on practical every day self-defence for the individual.
Classes are run in a relaxed family friendly environment where people learn at their own pace. Although the structure of TA Jutsu has a traditional martial art feel, the controlled and relaxed atmosphere is the perfect blend to bring out the best qualities and skills of all students. Our instructors have many years of experience and welcome students of all abilities.
Along with learning practical self-defence, TA Jutsu also promotes health, fitness and wellbeing through various workout drills designed to improve strength, flexibility and general overall fitness.
